Job Description

The Building Inspector reports to the Building Official and interprets and inspect construction, renovations, and properties; enforce building, zoning, and property maintenance codes; and work with property owners and contractors to ensure compliance. This hands-on role combines field inspections, code enforcement, and problem-solving on projects ranging from routine inspections to more complex cases. Minimum requirements include technical training in the areas of building construction and inspections as well as construction inspection experience. Certifications under the International Code Council in residential and/or commercial construction are preferred.
