Job Description

We are currently seeking candidates who are dedicated to delivering a high-quality, accurate report, have great time management skills and provide excellent customer service. Sutton conducts on-site field insurance inspections (NOT claims) for a variety of companies to help them make risk assessments for insurance purposes. Our inspectors act as the on-site observers for insurance underwriters to verify the condition and provide information for what is currently on site. Inspectors' responsibilities include: Pre-Inspection Preparation such as reviewing property details on public websites. Scheduling Appointments. Conducting a short interview for verification of information. Doing a thorough examination of a location's physical characteristics and general conditions. Exterior measurements. Taking interior and exterior photographs and highlighting any unusual hazards. Summarizing all findings in a report and submitted for review before it is sent to the insurance underwriter. The ideal Sutton inspector should be: Energetic, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a remote outdoor environment with minimal direction. Motivated, analytical, resourceful, and possess strong problem-solving skills. Proficient in written, verbal, and composition communication skills. Organized, capable of handling a demanding workload, and skilled in managing, prioritizing, and scheduling inspections efficiently. Able to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions in a timely manner. Accept work in a 20 mile radius 1 way of physical address. Willing to travel. Additionally, candidates are required to have: Reliable transportation. Valid auto insurance. Valid driver's license. Computer running Windows 10 or newer. Color monitor running 800 x 600 or higher resolution. Reliable internet connection. A digital camera and/or smart phone capable of interfacing with your computer. 20 foot or longer Camera Pole with attachments. Measuring device.
Additional suggested equipment or software:
Broadband (cable or DSL) internet connection. A color inkjet or laser printer. Microsoft Office 365, LibreOffice, or Google Workspace. Sutton contracts individuals, not just their experience. However, expertise in certain fields can enhance an inspectors efficiency and effectiveness when completing inspections. Beneficial previous work experience includes backgrounds in: General Insurance Industry Knowledge, Underwriting, Account Managers Adjusting or Property Claims Construction Architecture Real Estate Fire Inspectors (including firemen)

Inspectors are 1099 contractors and therefore Sutton does NOT provide training. Reference materials and system navigation assistance available.
