BUILDING INSPECTOR
- PLUMBING The City of Miramar, FL
- 3.7 Miramar, FL Job Details Full-time $74,194.65

Special Requirements:
Per Broward County Administrative Code 104.14.3 for a person to be eligible for appointment as Plumbing Inspector, such person shall be certified by BORA and meet at least one (1) of the following : Engineer in the discipline requested. Five (5) years of construction experience in the plumbing discipline in a supervisory capacity and possess a Certificate of Competency as a Master Plumber or Plumbing Contractor. Five (5) years of construction experience in the plumbing discipline and five (5) years of experience as a Plumbing Inspector certified by BCAIB and possess a Certificate of Competency as a Master Plumber or Plumbing Contractor. Seven (7) years of construction experience in the plumbing discipline and possess a Certificate of competency as a Journeyman Plumber. Ten (10) years of experience as a Plumbing Inspector certified by BCAIB. Position Requirements/QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of building construction. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of the installation and maintenance of equipment, appliances, and devices related to the applicable discipline. Knowledge of building codes, laws, and regulations. Ability to read and interpret building plans, diagrams, and specifications. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to adapt to an evolving and continually improving environment. Ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction of superiors in a positive, receptive manner. Ability to demonstrate a polite, helpful and courteous manner when engaged with the public. Ability to operate and care for equipment to manufacturer's specifications. Ability to demonstrate an understanding, consideration, and respect of cultural, religious, and gender differences when interacting with colleagues and the public.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires moderate physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds. May require frequent crouching, kneeling, bending, and stooping. Frequent periods of standing or walking may be required.CITY OF MIRAMAR

City- Observed H olidays : Twelve (12) paid full-day holidays and two (2) paid half-day holidays (Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve) per year

Defined Benefit (Pension)Plan :
A pension plan provides a guaranteed benefit at retirement if certain criteria are met. The amount of your future benefit is determined by a formula, based on earnings, length of service and Plan multiplier. Participation in the Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time employees. The Summary Plan Description (SPD) provides more detailed information regarding the eligibility and benefits under the Plan; however, the below chart provides a highlight of the Plan.
