MDU Technician ITG Communications - 2.7 Oakland Park, FL Job Details Full-time $20 - $27 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Outdoor work Ladder use Personal protective equipment (PPE) adherence Company vehicle operation High school diploma or GED Driver's License Power tools Full Job Description Responsibilities Perform aerial and underground construction activities, including cable placement, conduit installation, and infrastructure builds Assist with fiber and coax cable installation, splicing preparation, and basic network construction tasks Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment in accordance with safety standards Read and interpret construction prints, maps, and work orders Support trenching, boring, and directional drilling operations as needed Install and maintain poles, anchors, pedestals, and underground vaults Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, client specifications, and company standards Conduct job site preparation, restoration, and cleanup Document work performed using company systems, photos, and reports Maintain proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety protocols Key Measures /
Key Performance Indicators:
Productivity and completion rates for assigned construction tasks Quality of work and adherence to construction standards Safety performance and compliance (zero incidents, proper PPE usage) On-time completion of assigned work orders or project tasks Accuracy of documentation and reporting Reduction in rework and construction defects
Requirements Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in telecom construction, utility construction, or related field Experience with aerial and/or underground construction practices preferred
Exposure :
Telecom construction environments including aerial, underground, and outside plant (OSP) Use of construction equipment, tools, and materials Work in outdoor and field-based environments Interaction with field crews, supervisors, and project teams Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position : Strong commitment to safety and compliance Ability to follow instructions and execute tasks with accuracy Reliability and strong work ethic in field environments Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew/team Adaptability to changing job site conditions and project requirements Attention to detail and quality of work Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 75 pounds Ability to operate tools and construction equipment safely Ability to work in all weather conditions and wear required PPE Must maintain a valid driver's license and operate company vehicles safely Additional Comments ITG is an equal employment opportunity employer.
