JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, maintains general control over the permitting process in accordance with the City Code and ordinances for the City of Pinellas Park and provides inspection services.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED. Requires five (5) years of work experience in the construction industry. Must obtain provisional state certification for Building Plans Examiner and Building Inspector within three (3) months from date of hire. Must obtain standard state certification for Building Plans Examiner and Building Inspector within one (1) year of receipt of the provisional certification(s). Requires travel throughout the City (approximately 70% of the time) and work within an office environment (approximately 30% of the time). Work involves a moderate amount of physical effort; regularly required to reach, bend, pull and lift/carry objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
