Jog Road, WPB 34226 Examines construction plans for compliance with the Florida Building Code, Florida Statutes, and County regulations. Reviews various applications and construction plans for compliance with current codes in one of the following categories: Building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical. Work is performed within the framework provided by construction codes and Building Division policies while exercising independent judgment under the direction of an administrative superior. Performance is reviewed through oral/written communications, re-examination of plans, and within the framework provided by construction codes/Building Division policies.QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of experience as required by the State of Florida in construction work as an Architect, Engineer, Contractor, Inspector, Electrician, Plumber, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician, or Carpenter in the appropriate trade.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Qualified applicants must possess the following: A Florida Plans Examiner License in one (1) of the following categories: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or Structural, OR Valid certifications from the International Code Council (ICC) and/or another state, with the ability to obtain Florida Provisional Licenses within 120 days of hire AND one (1) Standard Florida License within 11 months of hire.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Experience with construction/building/electrical code compliance or examining construction plans, or Associate's Degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field.BENEFITS
