Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Technician Utility Locator

Engenuity Group, Inc. is a well-established civil engineering and land surveying firm serving South Florida for over 40 years. Our team includes four active survey crews and multiple licensed professionals working on a variety of civil infrastructure projects. We're seeking a skilled and motivated SUE Technician to help us continue delivering high-quality utility locating and mapping services across Palm Beach County and beyond.

Job Overview:

We're hiring a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Technician to perform utility designation using Vivax-Metrotech vLoc3 and ImpulseRadar PinPoint R GPR equipment. The technician will locate and mark underground utilities across a range of civil and commercial projects, supporting our design teams and ensuring construction safety and compliance with

ASCE 38-22

standards .

Typical Projects Include:

FDOT and municipal right-of-way utility investigations Water and wastewater treatment plant infrastructure Private commercial and retail development sites Local, state, and federal government facilities Public K-12 schools and education campuses

Key Responsibilities:

Perform field utility locating using GPR and electromagnetic detection tools Designate and mark underground utilities including water, sewer, electric, gas, telecom, and fiber Interpret utility records and construction plans Prepare SUE sketches and basic reports for design teams Collaborate with office staff and survey crews Follow project scope and company standards Maintain and troubleshoot locating equipment Adhere to safety policies and field procedures

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of SUE or utility locating experience (preferred) Familiarity with

ASCE 38-22

Quality Levels (or willingness to learn) Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and walk extended distances Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Drug-free and able to pass background check Preferred Experience with: Vivax-Metrotech vLoc3 ImpulseRadar PinPoint GPR GPS or total station survey workflows

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay:

$17.00 - $31.00 per hour , depending on experience 2 weeks of paid vacation and 2 weeks of paid sick time Health, dental, and vision insurance

Work Schedule:
