A Construction or Building Inspector inspects new construction or renovated buildings to check for compliance with government safety codes and zoning requirements. Checks building structures and foundations, or provides inspections of electrical systems, plumbing or heating and cooling systems, or building elevators.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from project plans and specifications Utilize estimating software to ensure accuracy in takeoff calculations Assist in the preparation of detailed estimates for materials, labor, and other project costs Ensure effective communication between project teams to address any discrepancies or issues in takeoffs Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of takeoff data Adheres to all company safety and security policies Maintain a high level of quality work at all times Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks Perform other duties as assigned Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred Ability to understand written material and basic math skills Ability to communicate and convey information effectively Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 25 pounds Knowledge of OSHA Standards Ability to obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred, but not required Dependable transportation Committed to attending work each day Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
