Job Description We are seeking a SR Roadway Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management and Construction Inspection practice team in Duluth, GA. The successful candidate will perform on-site construction inspections of various transportation-related construction projects, including bridge and highway projects. - roundabout, bridge construction, bridge rehab, traffic signals, major intersection improvement, Interstate Resurfacing, ITS projects, LIBP and roadway widening (passing lane/ turn lane), Or other projects in similar scope/complexity.
Preferred Certifications:
a. Passing scores on GDOT's Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests- Group 1 (General Provisions, Auxiliary Items, Basic Highway Math, and Basic Highway Plan Reading). b. Passing scores on GDOT's Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests
- Group 2 (Pavements, Bases and Subbases, Minor Drainage Structures, Construction Erosion Control). c. Passing scores on GDOT's Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests
- Group 3 (Earthwork, Bridges, Incidental Items).
GDOT WECS.
e. GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification. f. GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control). Thorough knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in highway construction. Considerable knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry related to highway/transportation engineering. Skill in the use of office equipment such as calculators and computers. Ability to read, interpret and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, and inspection procedures; ability to take notes and prepare or review reports; good communicative ability; and supervisory ability to coordinate the activities of lower-level employees and instruct them in proper work methods. A valid Georgia Driver's license. Abide by Atlas health and safety policies and procedures.
