We have an opening for a Field Representative to join our Transportation Engineering Department in our Savannah, GA office .
Typical Duties:
Performs routine construction inspection services for Transportation projects involving utilities, drainage, grading and pavement construction. Serves as a liaison between the Client or Project Manager and contractor. Assists Project Managers in effectively administering construction contracts. Seeks appropriate guidance in resolving various project-related issues. Prepares project related correspondence as appropriate. Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. Manages time effectively in order to meet project deadlines and client needs. Visits project sites to inspect conditions as appropriate. Attends and participates in meetings on behalf of the company with clients, contractors or resource agencies as appropriate. May arrange and conduct job progress meetings. Maintains daily job log and is completely familiar with plans and specifications. Other duties as necessary and/or assigned by supervisor. Overnight or extended travel may be required for occasional projects pending locations.
Education:
Construction Management Degree or High School Diploma and equivalent experience.
Experience:
3+ years experience with transportation construction.
Skills:
Familiar with erosion, sedimentation, and pollution control, CEPCI certification a plus. Familiar with roadway construction and utility installation. Ability to understand project plans and specifications Strong communication, verbal and written skills Ability to produce concise digital reporting and calculations needed for pay quantities. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred:
Graduation from a university with a degree in Civil Engineering or from a four-year college with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology Experience installing or witnessing and testing asphaltic and concrete paving.
