We are seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Inspector to support Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services on a major bridge rehabilitation and maintenance program in the Savannah, Georgia area. This position will support complex construction activities involving replacement of stay cable systems, bridge bearings, expansion joints, and associated structural components on a major cable-stayed bridge structure. Responsibilities Verify contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, quality control procedures, and safety requirements. Serve as the lead CEI Senior Bridge Inspector on a major bridge rehabilitation project. Perform inspections of cable-stayed bridge systems, including stay cables, anchorages, dampers, HDPE sheathing, corrosion protection systems, and other structural installation components. Monitor bridge movements and structural behavior during cable replacement operations. Inspect implementation of traffic control based on the approved traffic control plan, access systems, and fall protection measures during inspection and construction activities. Lead inspection efforts for stay cable replacement, bridge bearing replacement, expansion joint installation, and structural modifications. Conduct independent inspections of complex bridge construction processes such specialized lifting, rigging, and access systems , materials, and structural systems. Supervise lower-level inspectors. Participate in pre-construction, progress, and closeout meetings Perform field measurements and maintain contract documentation. Prepare daily inspection reports along photographs, technical observations and issue identification. Here's What You'll Need Construction engineering and inspection experience on complex bridges with significant cable-stayed bridge experience. Excellent understanding of cable-stayed bridge systems and cable replacement methodologies. Strong communication and coordination skills Post-tensioning inspection experience. Thorough knowledge of bridge construction specifications and GDOT standards. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Valid driver license and ability to work nights and weekends. Here's what you'll need High School Diploma/GED with 15 years construction experience involving 8 complex bridge projects; or Associate degree with 10 years construction experience involving 6 complex bridge projects; or Bachelor degree (In Civil or Structural Engineering or Construction Management) with 7 years construction experience involving 4 complex bridge projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience of the above. At least one representative project shall show experience involving stay cable bridge construction or cable replacement (Maintenance). Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
