In this energetic position, you'll be responsible for accurately locating underground utilities and related infrastructure to prevent damage during excavation and construction activities. Your expertise will help protect workers, the public, and vital utility services while supporting smooth project execution. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize technical skills, and contribute to community safety.
Responsibilities:
Perform precise utility locating using advanced equipment and techniques to identify underground cables, pipes, and other infrastructure components. Interpret blueprints, construction plans, and land survey data to determine the location of utilities relative to project sites. Collaborate with construction teams, land surveyors, and project managers to coordinate site activities and ensure safety protocols are followed. Document all locate activities accurately, including marking utility lines with appropriate flags or paint and maintaining detailed records of findings. Will be entered in to the on call rotation for the length of 7 days at a time. Must be willing to work overtime when necessary. Must be able to lift up to 70lbs.
Experience:
Prior experience as a locate technician is highly desirable. Experience working on construction sites ensures familiarity with safety standards and operational protocols. Demonstrated ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail. Must have a valid driver's license, and a clear driving record. Must be able to pass a background check.
