Job Title:
Owner's Representative Job Description The Owner's Representative will oversee construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and environmental protocols. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain project integrity and progress. Responsibilities Maintain a regular presence on site during contractor working hours. Ensure adherence to safety requirements and report any deficiencies or safety concerns to the Construction Manager. Review Civil contractors' work procedures to ensure they cover the contract Scope of Work. Monitor the quality of Civil construction, including grading, roads, and foundations, ensuring compliance with permits, agreements, and specifications. Oversee the quality of vegetation management and compliance with environmental requirements. Monitor reclamation, restoration, and reseeding activities. Act as a liaison between all Civil contractors on site. Review test reports and Civil documentation for accuracy and completeness. Assist in other fields such as mechanical, materials, or electrical quality assurance as needed. Establish regular communication with contractors through meetings and foster positive working relationships. Perform regular visits to construction areas and participate in safety programs. Report any deviations from Project specifications promptly. Provide weekly written records and photos of on-site progress and agreements. Attend in-office or virtual training and apply learnings to construction management tasks. Participate in virtual meetings and review project documentation when not on site. Essential Skills Experience in utility-scale solar project mechanical installation (2+ years). Quality control experience in mechanical, electrical, or civil projects. Familiarity with Nextracker racking systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Single Axis Systems, Quality Control, QC, Nextracker, ATI, mechanical, solar, and inspection. Work Environment The role involves 100% travel, working on solar farms across the US. Projects last 3-4 months, requiring adaptation to tight deadlines and budget constraints. Candidates must handle pressure and travel frequently. The work environment includes building solar farm sites, with energy collected underground and transmitted overhead. Benefits include overtime, per diem, reimbursable expenses for travel over 100 miles, and provided car rental. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
