Job Description
Description The Construction Engineering Inspector, or Construction Services Specialist, will be responsible for overall observation and review of the construction process for projects from the field. They will monitor and assure that projects are being completed to engineering plans and specifications throughout construction. Projects will include various municipalities and public utilities such as: wastewater treatment plants, stormwater systems, drinking water treatment plants, pump stations, and roadway utilities. The primary project will include underground infrastructure for water supply, water treatment, wellfield, and water systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation of construction activities and construction inspection from the project site Collect, maintain and organize construction documentation Plan review of engineering and construction documents for projects Onsite review of construction project sites to review worksite compliance with engineering plans and specifications Collaborate and maintain client relationships on the project site Communication with contractors and subcontractors Verify design plan accuracy at project sites Propose improvements or recommend alterations where necessary during construction Consult with Contractors and Engineers regarding construction activities, construction reports, and engineering designs Review changes in construction and materials specifications from developments during project construction Provide assistance and expertise on construction projects regarding reports, inspections, tests, and other engineering records Skills construction, engineering, Construction inspection, soil testing, wastewater treatment, water treatment, pump station, construction observation, stormwater, storm water, construction engineering, construction services, civil engineering, civil engineering construction, municipality, sanitary sewer, storm sewer improvement, storm sewer, water system improvement, construction drawings, blueprint, construction materials testing, construction documentation, construction report, engineering plan, engineering specifications, construction testing, construction plan, confined space, water main, water system, infrastructure, wellfield, drinking water, Inspection, Civil, Wastewater, Pumping station, Public works Top Skills Details construction,engineering Additional Skills & QualificationsMUST HAVE
3+ years in Construction Inspection/Observation, or Civil Engineering Technician Experience with review of construction plans and documentation for infrastructure construction projects Previous experience in field for construction engineering or civil engineering projects Valid Drivers LicensePLUS SKILLS
Bachelors Degree from ABET accredited college Direct experience as Construction Inspector / Observer, Construction Engineer, or Civil Engineering Technician (or related position) Experience with projects for wastewater treatment or water systems Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
