Non Exempt If you enjoy working outdoors, supporting construction teams, and ensuring projects are built safely and correctly, this role offers meaningful, hands-on work across Minnesota Power's service territory. RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct field surveys and inspections on a variety of energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and safety standards. Document project activities, including survey notes, engineering data, and "as-built" records; maintain daily construction logs. Support project teams by resolving field issues and coordinating with design engineers and contractors. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Best Management Practices (BMP). Investigate and address landowner concerns related to construction activities. Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent and a two year vocational certificate in survey and civil engineering technology or equivalent.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
One or more years of related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will report regularly in person to Duluth, MN. Preferred knowledge and skills include surveying techniques and equipment use, construction practices and techniques, mathematics (including trigonometry), land subdivision, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Civil 3D/AutoCAD, and survey CAD software such as Trimble Business Center. Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) certification as a Site Manager. This is a field-based role that requires flexibility, including travel and work outdoors in all seasons. Must possess and maintain a valid Class D driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certificate. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and maintain positive working relationships. This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $26.00 - $32.20. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
