DESCRIPTION OF WORK CEI
Tech serves as a Lead Project Inspector on bridge construction activities on Fort Bragg. This technical position will support engineers in areas such as construction inspection, material sampling and testing, and construction traffic control. Directs and supervises lower-level Technicians. Position requires the performance of standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. Candidate must be proficient in record keeping, plan reading and construction surveying. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain certifications required to perform material sampling and testing. Work may include other duties and responsibilities as assigned. May be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours as necessary. Steel toe shoes, valid Class C driver's license, safe driving record, and ability to obtain a pass onto Fort Bragg are required.Pay rate:
$27 to $44, depending on experience levelKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES
Qualified applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:- Experience in bridge construction inspection
- Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
- Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems
- Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments
- Experience in customer service related to resolving problems that involves explaining complicated engineering concepts to various customer groups
- Computer experience including office and drafting software Additional Information Candidate may be required to work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays to fulfill inspection and surveying needs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree in the assigned discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require certification. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. A minimum of 60 months of experience and bridge construction experience is required.
