Job Title:
CMT / Inspector / Field EngineerJob Description We are seeking both experienced and entry-level professionals in Construction Materials Testing (CMT), Special Inspections, and Geotechnical Inspections for various projects in the Raleigh-Durham area. Opportunities exist for Tech II and Tech III levels, as well as for those interested in beginning a career in this field. Responsibilities + Perform testing, analysis, and quality control of materials. + Conduct grain size analysis testing, Atterberg Limit testing, Moisture-density testing, ASTM and NCDOT Hydrometers, and laboratory resistivity testing on soils. + Execute aggregate grain size analysis, specific gravity of fine and coarse aggregates, and dry rodded unit weight testing. + Carry out compressive and flexural strength testing of concrete cylinders, beams, and cubes, and produce laboratory trial batches, including sampling and testing fresh unit weight, air content, and making samples. + Observe batch plant operations. + Perform burn and gradation analysis, maximum theoretical testing (Rice), and specific gravity testing on Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). + Conduct absorption and compressive strength testing on masonry blocks. Essential Skills + Materials Inspections + Construction Materials Technician + Soils & Concrete Testing + Masonry Testing Additional Skills & Qualifications + Preferred certifications include ACI, ICC, and Nicet. + 2-3+ years of experience preferred. + Experience in materials inspections and ACI is advantageous. Work Environment Work will be conducted both in the field and laboratory settings. The position involves performing basic field and laboratory tests under guidance, assisting in complex tasks, and carrying out routine duties as directed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
