Building Subcode Official / Building Inspector Town of Kearny, New Jersey The Town of Kearny is seeking an experienced Building Subcode Official / Building Inspector to play a key role in protecting the safety and quality of our community's buildings. In this full-time role (35 hours per week), you will: Administer and enforce the Building Subcode of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code Review plans and inspect all types of building and construction projects for code compliance Work closely with the Construction Official, contractors, design professionals, and property owners Help resolve code issues and support safe, responsible development in Kearny Perform related duties as needed within the Construction Code Enforcement office What We Offer Starting salary: $87,394 Full benefits package, including health and vacation Enrollment in the PERS pension system Stable municipal employment with predictable hours (35-hour workweek) What You Need Valid HHS Building Subcode Official license issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Valid New Jersey driver's license Strong knowledge of the NJ Uniform Construction Code and building practices Professional communication skills and a customer-service mindset when working with the public Submit your completed application and resume to: Personnel Department Town of Kearny The Town of Kearny is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
