PART-TIME VILLAGE CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER / BUILDING INSPECTOR
The Village of Scotia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Code Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector. Position Details Part-time hourly position Up to 20 hours per week $32.00 per hour No benefits Duties & Responsibilities Under general supervision, the successful candidate will administer and enforce the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, as well as applicable local fire and building codes.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing construction plans Issuing building permits Performing site inspections Ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards Enforcing applicable zoning, building, and fire prevention regulations Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Candidates should possess: Thorough knowledge of building construction practices, principles, materials, and tools Knowledge of building trades and fire prevention principles Knowledge of New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and local zoning regulations Fundamental understanding of engineering and architectural principles Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and maintain accurate records Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with public officials, contractors, and residents Minimum Qualifications Must possess a New York State Code Enforcement Official (CEO) certification Valid New York State Drivers License Ability to review construction plans, issue permits, perform inspections, and ensure code compliance How to Apply Please send resumes to: David Bucciferro, Mayor Village of Scotia 4 N.
