Job Title:
Field Engineer Job Description Join our team as a Field Engineer and play a hands‑on role in the electrical construction of a utility‑scale wind farm . You'll support critical activities including trenching, AC/DC collection systems, terminations, conduit runs, inverter installation, and combiner box work—while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and project execution. Responsibilities Promote job‑site safety and ensure proper PPE compliance Support superintendents and foremen with planning and daily field coordination Track construction schedules, including three‑week look‑ahead plans Inspect work for scope, quality, and contract compliance Administer QA/QC processes and maintain accurate documentation and logs Monitor quantities, material deliveries, and subcontractor progress Assist with material requisitions, timecards, expense reporting, and project logs Coordinate with subcontractors, engineers, office staff, consultants, and owners' reps Attend project meetings and support field documentation, inspections, and reporting Essential Skills Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience in construction management and commercial construction. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform inspections. Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent education and experience. Prior construction experience, including internships. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in project management and electrical construction. Strong organizational and communication skills. Work Environment This is a 100% onsite, outdoor role requiring full‑time presence on the job site. Expect 60-70 hours/week during construction season, up to 100% travel, and work in rural locations under varying weather conditions. After one year of permanent employment, excellent health insurance and a top‑tier 401(k) are offered. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
