Job Description
Gilson Inspection Services partners with Housing Authorities across the country to ensure rental properties meet Public Housing Quality Standards (PHQS) and local housing codes. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Housing Inspector to cover Springfield, Ohio . This is a field-based, independent contractor position , ideal for individuals with experience in housing inspections, construction, or property management who enjoy working independently while helping communities remain safe and compliant. Responsibilities Conduct inspections on residential rental units, including Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) properties Perform inspections in Springfield, OH, as assigned Verify compliance with PHQS and local housing codes Use our digital inspection software (training provided) to accurately document inspection findings Communicate professionally with tenants, landlords, and housing authority staff Prepare clear and detailed inspection reports and document required repairs Requirements Experience in housing inspections, construction, property management, or a related field (preferred) Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and active car insurance (required) Comfortable using mobile apps and basic Microsoft tools (Word, Excel) Able to pass a background check and drug screening Spanish-speaking is a plus Compensation Options Inspectors may choose between the following payment structures:
