Your impact Jacobs is actively seeking a talented Airfield Electrical Design & QA-QC Specialist to add to our Aviation team. Aviation projects are primarily airport-related, including but not limited to aviation related facilities including roadway systems, access control, and the design and construction of aviation infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Airfield Electrical Design & QA QC Specialist to support design, construction, and quality oversight of aviation and airfield infrastructure projects. This role blends airfield electrical design support, QA/QC, and construction administration to ensure compliance with FAA ACs, UFC, NEC, and contract requirements across all project phases. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep hands on experience in airfield lighting systems, inspections, and technical coordination in active airport environments. Key Responsibilities Design Support
  • Support airfield electrical design and layout per FAA ACs and UFC, using AutoCAD and Bluebeam
  • Design and review systems including: Airfield lighting and signage, Conduit and cable systems, Vault upgrades and CCRs, RWIS and NAVAIDs
  • Coordinate design efforts with the FAA and airport stakeholders
  • Prepare technical specifications and design analysis reports
  • Assist with cost estimating and quantity takeoffs
  • Perform QC reviews of plans and specifications
  • Conduct constructability reviews
  • Participate in client and stakeholder meetings QA / QC & Inspection
  • Perform electrical inspections for runway, taxiway, and airfield projects
  • Verify compliance with FAA standards, NEC, approved plans, and specifications
  • Review test results, material certifications, and inspection documentation
  • Identify deficiencies and verify corrective actions
  • Maintain inspection reports and project records Construction Administration (CA) Support
  • Review and respond to RFIs
  • Review contractor submittals
  • Assist with RFQs, field orders, and change orders
  • Conduct limited field observations/site visits
  • Participate in construction and coordination meetings Work Environment
  • Combination of office-based design support and limited field work
  • Active airport and secured movement-area environments
  • Occasional night or weekend work tied to airfield closures Here's what you'll need
  • Colorado Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience with airfield electrical systems and airport projects
  • Strong background in QA/QC and inspection
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
  • In depth knowledge of FAA ACs, UFC, and NEC
  • Experience working in active airport environments
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness and ability to be assigned to projects outside of home office location, including temporary or project based travel as required.
  • 5+ years QA/QC or inspection experience
  • 20+ years airfield lighting experience

The base salary range for this position is $105,700.00 to $150,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
