Job Description

Construction Associate (Transactional & Disputes)
Location:
Dallas, TX or Nashville, TN (Hybrid) Our client, a well-regarded national law firm, is seeking a Construction Associate with 3-4 years of experience to join its Construction practice. This is a growth-oriented role offering a clear path for advancement within a collaborative and interactive team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working on complex construction projects in transactional contexts , along with some exposure to construction-related disputes.
What You'll Work On:
Drafting and negotiating construction and project development agreements Advising on project risk allocation involving cost, schedule, scope, insurance, and bonding considerations Supporting construction transactions involving design and build contracts Assisting with construction disputes involving design errors, delay and impact claims, payment disputes, and surety bond enforcement Collaborating with attorneys across offices on complex construction matters
What We're Looking For:
3-4 years of construction law experience with a mix of transactional work and dispute exposure Experience drafting construction-related agreements and advising on project risk allocation Familiarity with construction disputes, including lien claims, delay claims, or surety bond matters Courtroom or deposition experience preferred but not required Strong academic credentials Excellent legal drafting and client communication skills Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment Prior experience in the construction industry is a plus
Additional Collaboration:
Attorneys based in Dallas may work closely with colleagues in another office and should expect occasional travel.
