Job Title:
ICC-Certified Special Inspector - Reinforced Concrete and Structural Masonry (Data Center Projects) Job Description This role offers an opportunity for an experienced ICC-certified Special Inspector to support high-profile data center projects in the Phoenix metro area . You will perform field inspections for reinforced concrete and/or structural masonry, maintain accurate project documentation, and collaborate closely with project management and client representatives to ensure construction quality and code compliance. Responsibilities Perform special inspections of reinforced concrete and structural masonry work on active data center construction projects to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Conduct quality control and quality assurance inspections in the field, documenting findings clearly and thoroughly. Review and interpret structural blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute inspection activities effectively. Verify that construction materials and installation methods for concrete, masonry, post-tensioned elements, steel, and welding meet relevant ICC standards and project requirements, within the scope of your certifications. Maintain complete, organized, and up-to-date files of field and laboratory data, inspection reports, letters, RFIs, and other pertinent project documentation. Prepare clear, accurate, and timely written inspection reports and communicate results and issues to the Project Manager and client representatives. Respond promptly to project-related RFIs and provide field observations to help resolve issues related to structural work and code compliance. Coordinate daily with the Project Manager and other team members to plan inspections, discuss findings, and support project schedules. Communicate professionally with client representatives, contractors, and design professionals to address inspection findings and support a collaborative project environment. Adhere to company procedures and project-specific requirements for documentation, safety, and quality. Travel within the Phoenix metro area to various project sites using a personal vehicle, as needed for inspection assignments. Essential Skills ICC certification in reinforced concrete inspection and/or ICC structural masonry inspection . Additional ICC certifications in concrete, masonry, post-tension, steel, and welding are required for full scope of work. Minimum of two years of previous inspection experience in construction, preferably involving reinforced concrete and masonry structures. Thorough knowledge of standards and codes related to the construction and inspection of reinforced concrete and masonry structures. Ability to read and understand structural blueprints, drawings, and current code requirements. Strong verbal communication skills for clear interaction with project managers, client representatives, and field personnel. Strong written communication skills for preparing detailed, accurate inspection reports and documentation. Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain complete and orderly files of field and laboratory data, reports, letters, and RFIs. Positive attitude and strong work ethic, with a focus on quality, reliability, and professionalism. Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to perform quality control and quality assurance inspections on active construction sites. Experience working on data center or similar large-scale construction projects is highly beneficial. Additional Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and complete inspection tasks and reports in a timely manner. Proven track record of great communication and responsiveness with project teams and clients. Experience in construction environments with a focus on inspection, quality control, and quality assurance. Comfort working with construction drawings and documents, including RFIs and technical correspondence. Ability to build strong working relationships with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders on complex projects. Work Environment This position is based in the Phoenix metro area and involves daily work on active construction sites for large data center projects. You will spend significant time in the field conducting inspections, moving between various project locations within the region. The work environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with opportunities to work on high-profile, technically complex projects. Overtime is available based on project needs. You will collaborate closely with project managers, client representatives, and construction teams in a professional setting that values quality, safety, and clear communication. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
