FTTH Expertise:
Strong, hands-on knowledge of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network builds, aerial/underground OSP construction standards, and quality control. Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented OSP Fiber Construction Inspector to oversee the installation and quality assurance of outdoor fiber optic cable projects. In this role, you will ensure that construction activities comply with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications. Your expertise will help maintain high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across public infrastructure projects involving fiber optic networks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical telecommunications infrastructure while working on diverse construction sites. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to verify adherence to project plans, specifications, and building codes. Monitor construction activities related to underground and aerial fiber optic cable installation, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Review construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to interpret project requirements accurately. Perform quality control checks during various phases of construction, including material verification and workmanship assessments. Collect data through site inspections, document findings, and prepare detailed reports on construction progress and compliance issues. Ensure pipeline and conduit installations meet regulatory standards and project specifications through regular site visits. Collaborate with construction management teams, contractors, and public agencies to resolve issues promptly and maintain project schedules. Requirements Proven experience in public works or civil infrastructure construction projects with a focus on fiber optic or telecommunications installations. Strong knowledge of construction regulations, building code analysis, and safety regulations applicable to outdoor infrastructure projects. Demonstrated ability in construction site inspections, quality inspections, and interpreting technical drawings or schematics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data collection, report writing, and documentation purposes. Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, contracts, and blueprint reading is essential. Experience in analyzing construction plans for compliance with building code requirements and regulatory standards. Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for conducting quality control inspections and ensuring regulatory compliance on-site.
