Plan Reviewer (Part-time) Planning and Development Services of Kenton County Covington, KY Job Details Part-time $35 - $45 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Job Overview Planning & Development Services of Kenton County (PDSKC) is seeking a qualified Part-Time Plan Reviewer to join the Building Code Administration team. In this role, you will perform timely and accurate reviews of submitted construction drawings—including nonstructural, structural, mechanical, and fire prevention system plans—in compliance with the Kentucky Building Code and Kentucky Residential Code, under the supervision of the Chief Building Official. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret construction documents including architectural, mechanical, structural, and fire safety drawings Issue permits and review/approve construction documents for compliance with the Kentucky Building Code and Kentucky Residential Code Conduct on-site inspections as needed, with transportation provided by PDS Issue compliance letters and certificates of occupancy Work collaboratively with contractors and local/state governmental agencies Review geotechnical reports, structural evaluations, and records of completion forms Maintain permit records in an orderly and accessible manner Meet with customers on an as-needed basis to address service needs Prepare technical memos, documents, and reports Other duties as assigned Experience Candidates must have or be able to obtain a Building Inspector, Level III certification through the Kentucky Certified Building Inspector Program within 30 days of start date.
