Job Description
ESP Associates, Inc. (ESP) is seeking a Special Inspector / Senior Engineering Technician to perform inspection and testing services related to, but not limited to: soils, foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, fireproofing and post-tensioned concrete.
ICC SoilsICC Reinforced ConcreteICC Structural MasonryICC Spray-Applied FireproofingICC Structural Steel and BoltingNICET Certifications and/or Post Tension Institute (PTI) Level I or II certifications will be considered beneficial in the roleEffective oral and written communication skillsAttention to detailWillingness to work in varying weather conditionsOccasional overnight hours and/or travel for workAbility to lift 50 lbsCandidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the companys driving (MVR) policy.

Responsibilities:
Review and understand project related drawings, specifications, and applicable building codesPerform Special Inspections in the field for project document and code compliancePerform routine and advanced field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standardsDocument observations and inspections of construction including discrepancy notices for non-compliant itemsCommunicate effectively with ESP project staff and project construction teamReport inspections and test results through ESPs field data collection softwareQualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or associate degree requiredExperience in inspection and construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt materials preferredACI Field Grade I Certification, preferredICC Certifications, preferred, any or all of the following:ICC SoilsICC Reinforced ConcreteICC Structural MasonryICC Spray-Applied FireproofingICC Structural Steel and BoltingNICET Certifications and/or Post Tension Institute (PTI) Level I or II certifications will be considered beneficial in the roleEffective oral and written communication skillsAttention to detailWillingness to work in varying weather conditionsOccasional overnight hours and/or travel for workAbility to lift 50 lbsCandidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the companys driving (MVR) policy.
