If you're ready to gain hands-on field experience while building a strong foundation in construction observation and project administration, this role is for you. What you'll do: Perform construction observation services for municipal infrastructure projects, including roadway improvements, water and sewer utilities, stormwater systems, treatment plants, water tanks, booster stations, lift stations, and recreational facilities Serve as a liaison between project managers and contractors throughout construction activities Assist project managers with construction contract administration and project documentation Review project conditions and seek guidance in resolving construction-related issues Prepare daily inspection reports, maintain quantity records, and produce project correspondence Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery Visit project sites to monitor construction activities and verify compliance with plans and specifications Attend meetings with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders Participate in project progress meetings and provide updates on construction activities Review and interpret construction plans and specifications to verify contractor conformance with project requirements Manage time effectively to meet project schedules and client expectations Perform other duties as assigned in support of project delivery What you bring: Construction Management degree or equivalent construction field experience Tennessee Department of Conservation Erosion Control Inspector Level 1 Certification, or ability to obtain after hire OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Training certification, or ability to complete after hire 5+ years construction observation/management experience preferred. Previous experience in construction observation, construction management, or a related field Familiarity with erosion, sedimentation, and pollution-control practices Familiarity with pavement construction and utility installation Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to prepare concise and accurate reports Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license and clean driving record Why Thomas & Hutton?
