Job Description

The City of Odessa is looking for a Utility Construction Inspector who enjoys working in the field and ensuring projects are done right. In this role, you'll help oversee water, sewer, drainage, and other utility construction, keeping projects on track, safe, and up to standard from start to finish. What you'll be doing: Visit job sites to make sure utility construction follows plans, specifications, and safety standards Work closely with contractors, utility crews, and other departments to keep projects moving Take field measurements and help maintain accurate "as-built" records Answer questions from the public and help communicate project updates Track daily progress and document inspection results What we're looking for: High school diploma or GED At least 2 years of experience in utilities, construction, or inspections (preferred) Valid driver's license Working knowledge of utility construction practices and safety standards Comfortable reading plans, using basic survey tools, and understanding specifications Ability to obtain required TCEQ licenses Be the boots on the ground that help build Odessa's future.
