This position is responsible for setting up, calibrating, and operating geophysical logging equipment and downhole video camera systems used to evaluate water wells for structural integrity, production capacity, and geological conditions. The Field Operator will work at public, private, industrial, and municipal well sites throughout the region. This is a hands-on field position that requires technical aptitude, attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and a willingness to travel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot geophysical logging equipment, including: Resistivity tools Natural gamma tools Caliper tools Flowmeters and spinner flowmeters Other downhole diagnostic instruments Operate borehole video camera systems and perform downhole video inspections. Record high-resolution visual data, measurements, and inspection results. Assist with the collection and interpretation of geophysical data to identify: Formation characteristics Casing damage or deterioration Blockages and obstructions Well construction issues Other well or geological anomalies Work with hydrogeologists, engineers, drilling crews, clients, and project managers to support accurate data collection and efficient field operations. Calibrate instruments and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in the field. Prepare and maintain logging trucks, winches, tools, electronic components, and other field equipment for daily deployment. Complete accurate field documentation, including logs, photographs, measurements, inspection notes, and equipment records. Follow all company, client, site-specific, environmental, and regulatory safety requirements. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at job sites and in company vehicles. Travel regularly to field locations, including occasional multi-day assignments. Work overtime, weekends, or extended hours as project requirements dictate. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, climb onto trucks and equipment, and stand or walk for extended periods. Willingness to travel regionally and work occasional overtime or weekends. Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform routine equipment maintenance. Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications and Experience One to three years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: Water well services Water well drilling Pump installation or service Geophysical or geotechnical field work Downhole camera inspection Utility or pipeline inspection Familiarity with geophysical logging methods, such as: Electric logging Natural gamma logging Optical or acoustic televiewer logging Fluid resistivity Spinner flowmeter logging Experience operating logging winches, remote power supplies, and laptop-integrated control systems. Experience using Windows-based software for data collection, processing, and reporting. Ability to read and understand well construction diagrams, geological logs, and basic electrical or mechanical schematics. CDL with Hazmat endorsement is preferred or may be required based on project needs. Technical training or certification in geology, environmental science, hydrology, water well technology, or electrical/mechanical trades is a plus. Education High school diploma or GED required.
