Job Description
Job Description The Inspector will monitor daily construction activities performed by third-party contractors, document progress, identify potential issues, and provide real-time updates to the project team through inspection reports and daily logs. This role requires frequent field presence and extensive travel throughout the project corridor. While some assignments may allow the Inspector to return home nightly, candidates should be comfortable with a highly travel-intensive schedule. The initial assignment is expected to last six months, with the potential to extend up to two years as construction progresses. The ideal candidate will have a strong fiber construction background, experience overseeing long-span underground fiber deployments, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, traffic control plans, and safety documentation. - Underground fiber construction experience
- Experience supporting long-haul fiber optic deployments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction plans
- Familiarity with traffic control plans and roadway construction requirements
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols
- OSHA 10 certification
- Ability to read KMZ files
- Ability to travel extensively to active construction sites
- Experience working on major state highways and DOT-regulated projects
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Excel, Teams meetings and technology experience
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience reviewing OTDR and fiber testing reports
- Fiber splicing or fiber testing knowledge
- Long-term tenure in the construction or telecommunications industry
- Experience overseeing contractors on large-scale utility or telecommunications projects
