Field Engineer

Civil Science is growing our construction team in Utah and is seeking a Field Engineer to support UDOT transportation projects in Southern Utah (Regions 3 & 4). This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level engineer or recent graduate who wants hands-on field experience working directly on active highway and infrastructure projects. You'll be part of a collaborative team while building strong relationships with contractors, UDOT personnel, and community stakeholders. What You'll Do As a Field Engineer, you will support Construction Engineering Management projects by: Assisting with construction oversight on UDOT transportation projects Coordinating with contractors to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards Reviewing RFIs, change orders, pay estimates, and project documentation Participating in field inspections, data collection, and construction verification Supporting quality assurance and materials documentation Maintaining project records and preparing reports and technical documentation Collaborating with internal teams and UDOT representatives Upholding Civil Science Quality and Risk Management Standards Ensuring compliance with company, client, and governmental safety requirements What You'll Need to

Qualify:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field) Having an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or currently working toward licensure is a plus, though not required Strong understanding of construction safety standards

certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire with company support Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check Willingness and ability to travel locally to job sites and work remotely as needed, including occasional overnight stays. May include occasional night and weekend work to meet project needs Having Bluebeam, Adobe, or related software experience is a plus, but not required Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work on active construction sites, including uneven terrain, varying weather conditions, and moderate to high noise levels Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
