Senior Construction Inspector Hampton, VA 23630 $30.37 - $41.00 an hour - Full-time $30.37 - $41.00 an hour - Full-time VN Engineers, Inc. is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector for a VDOT Hampton Roads Express Lanes - Segment 4C Responsibilities will include: Inspect work performed by construction contractors to ensure conformance with contract plans and specifications Contract administration Report daily progress and prepare daily work reports Track and document quality and quantities of work performed Report and document construction problems and challenges in the field Other oversight responsibilities as assigned Candidates must have at least five years of related experience (VDOT experience preferred), along with a VDOT or

NICET II

certification. Candidate is expected to have working knowledge of: Roadway, structure, and bridge construction/maintenance/repair/rehabilitation methods, materials, standards and specifications VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications, Road and Bridge Standards, Construction Manual, lnspector Manual, and Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices Construction plans, symbols, and terminology State and federal environmental, safety, and Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines and regulations Use of contract management software including Site Manager Mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry Candidates must be reliable and have strong written and oral communication skills Candidate must also be able to work nights and weekends when required This is a full-time position with benefits.
