Building Inspector I (Temporary position)

Greene County is seeking an experienced Building Inspector for a temporary, on-site role to join our team . This is a six-month position, with the potential for extension or conversion to a longer-term role based on performance and organizational needs.

Position Overview:

This position performs skilled technical work conducting field inspections and reinspection of residential, commercial and industrial facilities for compliance with building, electrical and mechanical codes, preparing and maintaining files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Official.

Requirements:

Possession of state certifications in building, erosion and sediment control, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, residential and commercial inspection certificates. Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
