Job Title:
Field TechnicianJob Description As an Engineering Construction Materials Field Technician, you will be exposed to a variety of responsibilities. You will work independently on construction sites, performing quality control testing of concrete, soils, and other construction materials. Additionally, you will complete and submit daily reports related to your observations and testing activities. Responsibilities + Perform quality control testing of concrete, soils, and other construction materials on construction sites. + Complete and submit daily reports related to observations and testing activities. + Communicate promptly with site supervisors and project managers about issues or deviations from plans and specifications. + Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures. + Work directly on-site with clients. + Attend job site meetings as needed. + Occasionally perform lab testing in office settings. Essential Skills + Proficiency in math, writing, and communication skills. + Experience in soil sampling and asphalt testing. + Knowledge of VDOT Asphalt 1 & 2 inspection. + Experience in horizontal construction. + ACI certification in concrete and construction. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Prior experience in a similar role is preferred. + Certifications in concrete and soil are preferred. + High school diploma or equivalent is required. + Construction-related or technical training is desirable. + Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. + Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. + Availability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments. Work Environment This position is entirely field-based, working independently on 1-2 sites per day. The work environment is fast-paced and may be dirty. Interaction will mainly be with the Superintendent and the General Contractor on site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winchester, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
