Halme Construction, Inc. (HCI) is seeking experienced and qualified applicants for the Project Quality Control Officer position with a strong background in civil construction and public infrastructure. The Project Quality Control Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing all quality control processes to ensure projects are completed in compliance with company standards, contract specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role develops and implements quality control plans, conducts inspections and testing, maintains project documentation, and coordinates with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure quality expectations are met throughout all phases of construction. The Quality Control Manager also identifies deficiencies, recommends corrective actions, monitors compliance with safety and environmental standards, and works to promote continuous improvement in workmanship, efficiency, and project performance. Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Control (QC) plans and procedures Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract specifications, project plans, and applicable codes and standards Conduct daily inspections of work activities, materials, and equipment to verify quality compliance Coordinate and document testing and inspections with third-party laboratories, inspectors, and regulatory agencies Maintain accurate quality control records, reports, logs, and project documentation Identify deficiencies or non-conforming work and assist in developing corrective action plans Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project quality requirements Participate in project meetings and communicate quality-related issues to project management and field personnel Review submittals, RFIs, material certifications, and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements Assist with project turnover documentation, punch lists, and closeout procedures Support compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies throughout project operations Perform root cause analysis for quality issues and recommend process improvements Ensure all testing equipment and inspection tools are properly calibrated and maintained Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the project teamQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or construction inspection, preferably in heavy civil construction Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, and industry quality standards Experience implementing and managing project-specific Quality Control (QC) plans and documentation Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and environmental compliance requirements Familiarity with MSAH safety standards and environmental compliance requirements Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, contracts, and shop drawings Experience conducting inspections, coordinating testing activities, and maintaining detailed quality records Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction regulations and quality requirements Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management/document control software Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, clients, and inspectors Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required Certifications such as CQM-C (Construction Quality Management for Contractors), ACI, NICET, or other industry-related certifications preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced construction environment Our commitment to you: We hold your safety and training as paramount Actively a part of each team member's growth in their career with ongoing professional training Strive to have an environment where everyone can grow according to their unique abilities and can enjoy coming to work!EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
