Job Description
Job Overview The Tower Crane Operator provides the primary logistical framework for high-density facility projects, managing the movement of materials and equipment from an elevated perspective. This role is essential for projects with restricted footprints and is responsible for the precision handling of high-value process components, concrete forms, and structural materials. Duties & Responsibilities Operate tower cranes to hoist and place materials with extreme accuracy, often involving "blind" lifts where the load is not visible from the cab. Continuously monitor weather conditions - specifically wind speeds and lightning - and securing the crane during downtime. Serve as the central logistical point for the site, synchronizing with the Superintendent and Foreman to prioritize lifts that maintain the project's critical path. Ensure all loads are rigged correctly by ground personnel before initiating a hoist, verifying weight estimates against crane capacity at specific trolley positions. Conduct daily inspections of the crane's mechanical systems, cables, trolley, and limit switches; maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance and operational cycles. Operate in strict accordance with OSHA and manufacturer standards, ensuring all personnel remain clear of the fall zone and swing paths. Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience operating tower cranes on complex industrial or heavy civil project sites. Must hold a current NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) certification for Tower Cranes (TWR). Advanced spatial awareness and the ability to interpret load moment indicators and trolley positioning data. OSHA 30-Hour Construction preferred; comprehensive knowledge of rigging standards and signaling protocols. Ability to climb to the crane cab daily and maintain high-level focus during extended shifts at height. Authorization to work in the US and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical. Insurance & Benefits (Industry Leading) Competitive Compensation 100%
Company-Paid Health Insurance:
