About Us Imperial Recycling Located in Chicago, IL, our facility excels in processing a wide range of materials, including aluminum, copper, brass, steel, zinc, plastic, paper, and more. With expertise in operating chopping lines for insulated wire processing, we serve diverse industries such as manufacturing, electrical utilities, metal fabricating, and many others. 1745 W. Fulton St., Chicago, IL 60612 At Imperial Recycling Company, safety, innovation, and efficiency drive everything we do. We process high-value materials on a large industrial scale—and we're seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic / Welder. You will be responsible for keeping our equipment operating efficiently through proactive maintenance and timely repairs. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Crane Operator with experience operating Sennebogen material handlers. This role is based in a production environment and involves feeding a chopping line and loading a granulator—not loading trucks or trailers. Key Responsibilities Operate Sennebogen crane to feed material into a chopping line and granulator Maintain consistent material flow to support production efficiency Perform daily pre-operation inspections and preventative maintenance (PMs) Monitor equipment performance and report any issues promptly Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times Maintain a clean and organized work area Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience operating Sennebogen cranes/material handlers Proven experience working in an industrial or recycling/processing environment preferred Strong understanding of crane safety practices and protocols Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment Comfortable working in outdoor and industrial conditions Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience feeding processing equipment such as choppers or granulators Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills OSHA or other safety certifications (a plus) NCCCO certification or equivalent.
