Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Crane Operator and become a vital part of our operations! In this role, you will expertly operate heavy equipment to facilitate efficient loading and unloading. Your keen attention to safety protocols and precise operation skills will ensure smooth workflow and uphold our commitment to a safe working environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your experience and heavy equipment expertise while contributing to large-scale projects and daily logistics. Duties Responsible for the safe operation of crane used in heavy lifting and transport Assist team leader and signal persons Responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers Responsible for slings, cables, straps, and the crane prior to lifting operations Perform preventative maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of crane Supervise oiling of crane Responsible for own and Rigger's compliance with company policy, safety guidelines and procedures that pertain to the Crane Operators' job Remains in continual voice (radio), hand, and/or communication with rigger while operating the crane Assures that all lifts are within loading limits of equipment and correctly rigged Inspect lifting gear prior to use Operate crane equipment to hoist materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner Perform tasks assigned by Supervisor during lifting procedures Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications and Requirements 3+ years crane operating experience Extensive travel may be required Must be certified as a Crane Operator through a third-party certifier (NCCCO, NCCER, etc.) Basic written and verbal skills Ability to perform basic mathematical skills Must be reliable and able to accept responsibility for his/her actions New hires must meet all Berard Transportation employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screen
