Job Description

CDL Driver Position Summary:
A CDL driver will possess the ability to operate large, heavy motor vehicles to transport equipment and materials as directed. Core duties include conducting mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections, adhering to strict DOT regulations, securing cargo, and maintaining accurate electronic tickets by using Peak Cranes Fleet Management Software.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    Vehicle Inspections:
    Conduct thorough pre-trip, mid-trip, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer to ensure brakes, lights, and engines operate safely.
      Compliance & Safety:
      Maintain a clean CDL and strictly comply with all federal, state, and local highway traffic regulations.
        Hauling & Operations:
        Load, unload, and secure industry related cargo including equipment like crane counterweight, rigging equipment, or forklift and aerial work platforms to prevent shifting or damage during transit, assist in the assembly and disassembly of Truck cranes.
          Communication:
          Maintain regular contact with dispatchers and managers regarding delivery statuses, route delays, or mechanical issues.
            Customer Service:
            Interact with clients at drop-off or pick-up sites, ensuring accurate inventory verification and securing required signatures.
            • This is a full-time, on-site position requiring a commitment to work as directed by Dispatch. A Peak Cranes LLC Driver must be available to work extended hours as needed to meet client and business needs.
            • Local and out-of-town travel is required when requested.
            • Other duties assigned by your supervisor.
            Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education): Have a valid driver's Class-A license. Experience hauling Lan doll, Roll Back and Low-Boy trailers Preferred but not required Direct crane and rigging knowledge or related field experience highly desired. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Highly self-directed and self-motivated. Ability to make decisions or problem-solve with limited instruction or information. Professional demeanor and ability to adapt to changing environments. Available to work weekends when necessary.
            Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
            Ability to sit for long periods, maneuver in various weather conditions, load and chain heavy items correctly as to not shift in transit, frequently lift heavy items (often 50 lbs or more)
