What You'll Do :
Inspect, Receive and Unload railroad cars and trucks of scrap metal Load charge buckets for melting Perform material handling tasks Operate mobile equipment Assist with maintenance and relining of arc furnace Cross trained to backup Electric Arc Furnace Operator Performs other duties, assignments and projects as deemed necessary
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb and bend. The employee is regularly required to use hand and fingers to handle objects and controls and reach with arms and hands. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in extreme weather, is frequently exposed to airborne particles and occasionally exposed to fumes. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
What You Need :
HS Diploma or GED Ability to read and interpret procedures, policies and other written forms of communication Ability to process and complete written or oral instructions Ability to apply basic math including fractions, percentages and units of weight measure Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner with internal and external customers Crane operation experience preferred but not required
