Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Boom Operator to join our construction and materials handling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating boom trucks and other lifting equipment to safely and efficiently move heavy loads across construction sites, warehouses, and shipping facilities. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safe handling of materials, adherence to safety protocols, and smooth workflow operations. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with crane operation, and a commitment to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate boom trucks, cranes, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy lifting equipment in accordance with safety regulations Coordinate load handling procedures using rigging and load securing methods to ensure stability during lifts Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment including hydraulics, safety equipment, and load handling attachments Follow established crane operation protocols and construction workplace safety regulations Safely load, unload, and transport materials within construction sites or warehouse environments Implement OSHA safety standards during all lifting activities and ensure compliance with safety protocol requirements Assist with materials handling tasks such as shipping & receiving, inventory management, and warehouse organization Maintain clear communication with team members to coordinate lifts and prevent accidents Perform routine maintenance checks on lifting equipment and report any malfunctions or hazards promptly Adhere to all safety procedures related to overhead cranes, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment operation
Requirements:
Proven experience operating boom trucks, cranes (including overhead cranes), forklifts, excavators, backhoes, and other material handling equipment in construction or warehouse settings Strong mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, load handling procedures in crane operations, and rigging techniques Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial driving tasks Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and OSHA safety standards implementation Knowledge of load securing rigging methods and proper use of safety equipment Ability to perform crane operation tasks safely while adhering to heavy equipment operation best practices Experience with shipping & receiving processes within warehouse or construction environments Excellent communication skills for effective coordination on busy work sites Physical ability to handle demanding workloads involving heavy lifting and material movement If you are a motivated professional with a solid background in crane operation and materials handling within construction or industrial environments, we encourage you to apply.
