Full-Time Panters Garage is seeking an experienced Crane Operator / Scrap Yard Processor to join our team. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience operating heavy equipment who is also comfortable processing, sorting, and inspecting scrap metal. This is not strictly a crane-operating position. The successful candidate will be actively involved in daily scrap yard operations and should be willing to work wherever needed to keep material moving safely and efficiently. We are willing to pay for experience. Compensation is negotiable based on your skill level, equipment experience, and scrap industry knowledge. Responsibilities Safely operate a crane to load, unload, move, and process scrap material Operate other heavy equipment as needed Sort and process ferrous and non-ferrous scrap Inspect incoming scrap loads and materials Identify different types and grades of scrap metal Check loads for prohibited, hazardous, or improperly prepared materials Assist customers and drivers during loading and unloading when necessary Maintain awareness of employees, customers, vehicles, and equipment while operating machinery Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe Assist with other scrap yard duties as needed Qualifications Previous crane or heavy equipment operating experience required Scrap yard, recycling, demolition, or metal-processing experience strongly preferred Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals is a plus Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, trucks, and moving material Strong attention to detail when inspecting and sorting scrap Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to work effectively as part of a team Strong commitment to workplace safety Compensation Pay is negotiable based on experience.
