Turner Industries is hiring a Crane Operator to join our team in the Notrees, TX area.
General :
Works under the direction of a foreman, operates overhead crane for moving pipe spools and material.
Functional Requirements:
Read and sign off on JSA. Operates overhead crane from a cab or remotely from the floor. Receives verbal communication from employees where location of crane is needed to move spools throughout receiving shop, staging, coatings and shipping areas. Stays awake, alert and is aware of surroundings. Uses hand levers to control functions of the crane. Performs daily inspection of crane; reports any unsatisfactory findings to the foreman. Reads and interprets load charts. Understands hand signals for communicating with employees in work area. Always maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Qualification Standards:
Preferably one (1) to two (2) years of experience in specified skill Pre-employment/post-employment qualification test. Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation Hazard Communication orientation/test. Turner Industries Group/Job site orientation/Hazard Communication and required tests. Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses•OSHA approved Z87 if applicable, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.). Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction
Mental Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form.
