Shop Foreman/Supervisor Position Summary ProcessBarron is seeking a skilled and motivated Flex Drill Operator to join our manufacturing team in Pelham, Alabama. This position is responsible for operating and programming a Flex Drill machine to fabricate structural steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have fabrication shop experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. The Flex Drill Operator will be responsible for reading and interpreting drawings, selecting materials, programming drilling operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring finished products meet company quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Machine Operation & Fabrication Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications. Select proper materials and tooling required for each job. Set up, program, operate, and maintain the Flex Drill machine. Determine dimensions, hole patterns, spacing, and tolerances from fabrication drawings. Perform material takeoffs, part counts, and inventory tracking as needed. Organize and package completed parts for downstream manufacturing operations. Production & Quality Assist in the fabrication of large structural steel and mechanical assemblies. Use hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely and effectively. Analyze diagrams and specifications to prepare plate and structural materials for fabrication. Inspect finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications. Safety & Continuous Improvement Perform required pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections. Identify and report safety concerns to supervisors. Follow all ProcessBarron safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned and trained.

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing shop environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Basic math skills, including measurement and unit conversions. Ability to safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment, or willingness to learn.

Preferred:

Technical college certification. Experience operating CNC drilling or steel fabrication equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic. Safety-focused mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desire to learn, improve, and grow within the organization. Goal-oriented and committed to quality workmanship. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more as needed. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, balance, climb stairs or ladders, and work in confined spaces when required. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and other industrial conditions. Ability to safely access all areas of the facility.
