ABOUT US
Confluence Technical Services, Inc. (CTS) is an established environmental / geotechnical technical services company supporting various engineering, consulting, construction, and energy projects throughout California. We are looking for a motivated, safety-conscious Driller/Equipment Operator to join our growing Northern California team. This is a hands-on field position for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, comfortable operating drilling rigs, heavy equipment, and able to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Driller/Equipment Operator will travel to project sites throughout California and perform drilling and environmental investigation activities using company-provided vehicles and equipment. Primary equipment includes truck-mounted drilling rigs, direct-push equipment, generators, air compressors, pumps, and other field equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safely operate a truck-mounted CME 75 auger drill rig
  • Perform hollow-stem auger drilling for geotechnical and environmental investigations
  • Operate direct-push Geoprobe equipment
  • Drive company-provided commercial vehicles to and from project sites
  • Mobilize, set up, operate, and demobilize drilling and field equipment
  • Complete accurate daily drilling and field reports
  • Inspect equipment and ensure it remains in safe working condition
  • Perform routine and preventative equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting
  • Load, unload, and transport equipment and project materials
  • Follow company, client, DOT, and site-specific safety requirements
  • Work independently in the field while effectively coordinating with project teams and clients
  • Assist with additional field activities as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid California Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record
  • Experience operating a truck-mounted auger drilling rig, preferably a CME 75
  • Experience with hollow-stem auger drilling
  • Experience operating a Geoprobe/direct-push drilling rig
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Certificate and meet applicable FMCSA requirements for operating a commercial motor vehicle
  • Ability to successfully complete a
HAZWOPER
medical evaluation/physical
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot tools and field equipment
  • Ability to safely lift and carry at least 50 pounds
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions
  • Full-time availability and willingness to travel to project sites throughout California
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening
  • Ability to provide documentation establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States as required by federal law
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • $35.00-$50.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
