Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Locator, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the precise positioning and safe operation of underground utility installations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects, utilizing advanced locating technology to guide directional drilling operations. As an HDD Locator, you will be instrumental in preventing utility damage, supporting construction teams, and maintaining safety standards across complex job sites. Your expertise will help keep projects on track while providing valuable service to clients and communities alike. Responsibilities Operate and interpret signals from underground utility locating equipment to accurately identify and mark existing utilities before drilling begins. Assist with the setup and calibration of locating tools, ensuring precise readings for directional drilling operations. Collaborate closely with construction crews, surveyors, and field service teams to coordinate safe excavation and installation activities. Conduct land surveying and utility locating to verify underground infrastructure locations, preventing potential conflicts or hazards. Support field service operations by troubleshooting equipment issues and maintaining proper documentation of locates and site conditions. Read and interpret construction blueprints, maps, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and site layouts. Operate backhoes, forklifts, and other construction equipment as needed for site preparation or utility installation tasks. Assist with cabling installation, ensuring proper placement and connection of underground utilities according to project plans. Skills Proven experience as a service technician or in a related field supporting utility or construction operations. Strong background in land surveying and utility locating techniques using modern electronic equipment. Knowledge of field service procedures within construction or underground infrastructure projects. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans with precision. Experience operating backhoes, forklifts, or similar machinery safely and effectively on construction sites. Familiarity with cabling installation processes for underground utilities. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and documenting work accurately. Pay:
$45.00 - $48.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
