In this role, you will oversee the operation of directional drilling equipment, coordinate construction activities, and ensure accurate underground utility placement. Your expertise will drive project success while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and heavy equipment operation skills to deliver exceptional results. Duties Operate and manage directional drilling equipment, including horizontal drilling machinery, ensuring precise alignment and depth control for underground utility installations. Lead and supervise construction crews on-site, coordinating tasks related to excavation, trenching, and utility placement. Conduct thorough site assessments to determine optimal drilling paths, considering soil conditions, existing infrastructure, and project specifications. Use heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machinery to prepare sites and support drilling operations. Maintain detailed records of project progress, equipment usage, safety inspections, and site conditions. Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and company policies; promote a safety-first culture among team members. Troubleshoot mechanical issues with drilling equipment or heavy machinery promptly to minimize downtime. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment including Caterpillar machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machines. Proven experience operating horizontal directional drilling systems and related tools in construction environments. Skilled in excavator operation and other heavy equipment handling with a focus on precision and safety. Construction site experience with familiarity in utility installation projects involving underground piping or cable laying. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in operating various construction vehicles like dump trucks and water trucks. Knowledge of soil analysis and ability to interpret subsurface conditions for optimal drilling paths. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards; leadership skills to supervise crews effectively.
