Description Palmetto Rock Services, Inc. was formed in 1992 as a specialty subcontractor based in Spartanburg, South Carolina to provide full service rock drilling and blasting services to the construction and mining industries in the Carolinas and Georgia.

Work Environment:

Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above the shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull. Key Responsibilities Perform pre/post shift inspection of equipment Operate the drill in a safe manner per the manufacturer's specifications Understand the drill pattern laid out by the blaster and drill holes to the correct depth Fill drill logs out correctly and communicate any issues or problems encountered while drilling Report drill footage and hours to the Project Manager, Quarry Manager, and Construction D&B Manager daily Train on multiple drill rigs Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Prior experience running heavy equipment preferred - willing to train
