Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Locator and play a vital role in the installation of underground Fiber installs with precision and safety. In this energetic position, you will operate specialized equipment to accurately locate underground utilities during horizontal directional drilling projects. Your expertise will ensure that installations are completed efficiently, safely, and with minimal environmental impact. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative construction projects that shape communities and infrastructure. Responsibilities Operate and maintain HDD locating equipment to precisely identify underground utilities during drilling operations Collaborate with drill operators and construction teams to ensure accurate positioning and avoid utility strikes Conduct thorough site inspections to identify existing pipeline routes and potential hazards Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines, to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites Assist with the setup and breakdown of heavy equipment such as excavators, water trucks, forklifts, and other construction machinery Maintain detailed records of locating activities, equipment logs, and safety inspections Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate project tasks and ensure timely completion of drilling operations Requirements Proven experience operating F2 Locators Mechanical knowledge related to pipeline installation, horizontal drilling techniques, and construction site operations Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety Strong understanding of underground utility locating methods and tools used in horizontal directional drilling projects Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred for operating tanker trucks or water trucks on site Experience working on construction sites involving oil & gas or pipeline projects is highly desirable Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety awareness This role is paid and offers an engaging environment where your skills contribute directly to impactful infrastructure projects.
